NEW MARRIOTT FLAGSHIP - The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London

The St Pancras Renaissance Hotel London is due to open by London’s Kings Cross at the end of March 2011 following an extensive renovation.

Preserving the romance of rail travel during the 1800s, historic areas have been restored including the ‘Ladies Smoking Room’, the first place in Europe where it was acceptable for women to smoke in public, and the original ticket office, which is now a bar and restaurant. The 245-room hotel consists of the historic St Pancras Chambers that will house 38 spacious Victorian bedroom suites, and Barlow House, the newly created 120,000sqft contemporary extension. The hotel will also house a 350 capacity ballroom, a private club, a barber’s shop and luxury spa.





CITY INN REBRANDS AS MINT HOTELS

Contemporary hotel chain, City Inn, has rebranded as Mint Hotel ahead of opening two new hotels in prime locations in London and Amsterdam, almost doubling the number of rooms.

Mint Hotel will open their second London property of 583 rooms at the Tower of London, in Pepys Street, EC3, on 20th December 2010 and is expanding overseas for the first time with a new hotel of 553 rooms opening in Amsterdam in Spring 2011.

Arbroath set a British soccer record in 1885 by beating Bon Accord 36-0 in the Scottish Cup, thanks in part to 13 goals from centre-forward John Petrie. Dundee Harp ran them close on the same day, by beating Aberdeen Rovers 35-0.
